Is PrizeRebel Legit?

PrizeRebel is legit, established 2007

PrizeRebel is a legit way to make money online, but you must “work smarter, not harder.”

As a reward, you can be paid in cash or gift cards starting with a $5 payout in cash or gift cards. Using PrizeRebel regularly means you can get paid weekly!

You won’t be able to retire from your PrizeRebel earnings or replace your daytime income. But, the rewards site can be a fun and easy way to make some extra money on the side.

Most tasks only require a few minutes, which makes this a perfect hustle if you’re a teenager, busy parent or working professional.

Who Can Join PrizeRebel?

You must be at least 16 years old to join PrizeRebel.

Until you’re at least 18 years old, you must have parental permission to join. Membership is available in many countries, but you will have the best opportunities if you live in these nations:

  • United States
  • Canada
  • United Kingdom
  • Australia

PrizeRebel is completely free to join by submitting your name and email address or Facebook profile. The signup process is a breeze and only takes a few seconds.

Once you verify your account, make sure you complete the profile questionnaire to begin receiving the most relevant surveys and offer opportunities.

With any side hustle, how you manage your time is just as important as how much you earn per task.

How to Make Money with PrizeRebel

PrizeRebel homepage

There are five different ways to make money with PrizeRebel:

  • Online surveys
  • Completing offers
  • Watching videos
  • Performing online microtasks
  • Referring friends

I’ve dabbled on several get-paid-to sites besides PrizeRebel. PrizeRebel is one of my favorites for two reasons.

First, you have a variety of ways to get paid. If you experience “survey fatigue,” you can watch videos or play games to earn points.

The second reason why I like PrizeRebel is its flexible payment options. My favorite redemption option is the $2 Amazon gift card.

Or, you can request cash payment when your balance reaches $5.

I like smaller, more frequent payments from side hustles because it keeps my motivation level high.

Below are some tricks and tips to maximize each earning option.

Online Surveys

PrizeRebel Surveys

Online surveys are the easiest and most consistent way to earn PrizeRebel points. Further, you won’t have to spend money which is why I like this income idea. There are currently three different survey partners and you can participate in multiple surveys each day.

Scroll through each survey provider and pay attention to these two columns:

  • Time to Complete
  • Points

You want to look for the maximum number of points with the shortest time commitment.

For example, you may see a 4-minute survey that pays 11 points or an 18-minute survey that pays 252 points. I’m going to try for the 18-minute one first.

Keep in mind, that you must first complete a screener with every survey attempt. If you don’t qualify for a survey, you will still earn a PrizeRebel sweepstakes entry.

And, PrizeRebel will continue to find you a relevant survey.

Since every person has a different life story, you will need to find the network you have the most success with. It might feel like a process of trial and error at first.

Personally, I find myself answering the screener questions for several surveys before qualifying at times. Bouncing between the initial questionnaires and not receiving a consolation payment is frustrating.

Although it’s an extra step, take a few minutes to complete a profile survey with each network too. This initial effort can save you time later on to have a higher acceptance rate.

You will receive credit for most surveys within 24 hours of completion.

Completing Free and Paid Offers

PrizeRebel Offers

Completing offers are the other common way to earn PrizeRebel points. I find these offers can be rewarding, but you might have to make a purchase or commit a lot of time. Yes, “pay to play” offers are the most lucrative option on rewards site like this one.

However, I advise only making purchases if you plan on spending the money for that product anyways.

Don’t despair as there are many free offers, too. For example, I have earned bonus points by visiting websites while learning something new and installing free apps.

Some of the most common ways to gain points include:

  • Downloading apps
  • Getting insurance quotes
  • Opening banking accounts
  • Playing games
  • Sign up for streaming services

Most offers award from one to 2,000 points ($20). Be sure to read the offer details to see what actions you must take to earn the payout.

I find the offers similar to many get-paid-to sites that partner with overlapping networks. A unique benefit is comparing offers from seven networks so you have more options than many rewards platforms.

It’s easy to compare offers and review the offer requirements to find the highest-paying gigs.

Watching Videos

You’re not going to earn a lot of points by watching videos, but you can learn something new. And, it can offer some variety from your regular YouTube routine.

I recommend watching videos when you’re completing other errands on the honey-do list.

Some activities might include doing laundry, preparing supper or even completing homework. If you want to get an “A” on your next exam, you might want to ignore that last recommendation.

I personally like the world news, automotive reviews and food channels. However, I focus on other side hustles first that pay more with a similar time commitment.

You usually have to watch three or four videos to receive credit, so set aside about five minutes for each video bank. Search for videos by tapping the “Videos” button in the offer wall page.

Daily and Weekly Challenges

You can earn 10 bonus points by completing daily challenges and 50 extra points when you fulfill the weekly challenge by claiming the daily challenge on five consecutive days.

It’s possible to achieve the daily challenge by earning a minimum number of points on that calendar day. I find these challenges to be a good motivation factor if you find it easy to make money on this platform.

Refer Friends to Earn Bonus Points

PrizeRebel Affiliate Program for referrals

One way to earn passive income from PrizeRebel is referring friends. You can earn up to 30% of what your friends earn.

If they earn 100 points, you get 30 bonus points just because you told them about PrizeRebel!

So, the more friends you refer, the more you earn.

Additional Ways to Earn PrizeRebel Points

There are three additional ways you can earn bonus points from PrizeRebel.

Promo Codes

PrizeRebel regularly publishes promo codes that you can redeem for bonus points. You might receive them in email and social media.

PrizeRebel Browser Extension

Installing the PrizeRebel browser extension guarantees you don’t miss promo codes or new survey opportunities. You can also check your friend referral stats at any time.

Additionally, I was able to get a handful of points by installing the Chrome browser extension.

Account Levels

As you earn points, you will upgrade account levels. PrizeRebel currently starts all new members off at Bronze, which is the lowest level.

There are four additional tiers you can climb, with Diamond being the highest tier.

Once you reach the three highest tiers, you receive a monthly earnings bonus.

Several benefits of upgrading membership levels include:

  • Point Earning Bonus
  • Discounted Prizes
  • Increased Friend Referral Bonuses
  • Receive Your Prize Selections Sooner

These loyalty tiers are common for rewards sites like PrizeRebel and I find them easy to achieve if you stay active on this platform.

Redeeming Your PrizeRebel Points

After earning rewards points, it’s now time to redeem them! Your redemption options include:

  • Gift cards
  • Cash (PayPal, Dwolla, or Visa Prepaid Gift Card)
  • Contests and raffles

Each redemption option requires a different number of points, but your points have the same value for the three redemption categories.

Every point is worth 1 cent. To have a $2 points balance, you must earn 200 points for instance.

You will need to accrue 500 points ($5) to begin requesting cash and gift cards. Once you become a Gold member, you can begin receiving the $2 Amazon gift card.

Gift Cards

PrizeRebel gift card redemption

You can begin requesting $5 gift cards when your balance is 500 points.

Periodically, certain gift cards go on sale. At the time of this review, for instance, you can get a $10 Restaurant.com gift card for only 400 points.

That’s a $6 savings and gives you 600 points to spend on your next reward!

It usually takes one day to receive your gift card rewards. If you happen to be a Gold, Platinum or Diamond member, you get your reward within five minutes.

Once you become a Gold member, you can qualify for the coveted $2 Amazon gift card. If Amazon gift cards are your preferred payment method, you can now request payment in half the time.

Cash

You have three different cash payment options:

  • PayPal
  • Dwolla
  • Visa Prepaid Gift Card

It’s possible to request cash payments with a $5 balance (500 points). This is a competitive minimum redemption and lower than several competing sites.

Many other survey sites require a minimum $20 or $25 balance before you can get paid in cash, yet offer gift cards with $5 balances.

Not everybody always wants a restaurant or retail gift card just because it’s the cheapest option. Having cash redemption options provides more flexibility, which I like.

With PrizeRebel, cash and gift cards are both equally easy to earn.

Once you reach the Silver membership tier, you can request custom balance amounts in excess of $5.

For example, if your account balance is $7, you can request a $7 PayPal or Dwolla payment instead of waiting until your balance reaches $10 to redeem your entire balance.

Similar to gift cards, you should plan on waiting 24 hours to receive your PayPal or Dwolla payment. Gold and other premium members can receive their cash within an hour.

Contests and Raffles

This third points redemption option doesn’t offer guaranteed payment.

You won’t have to spend points on the PrizeRebel contests. These contests usually reward the most active members.

Each contest focuses on a single activity you need to complete, like surveys or offers. A new contest begins every two weeks.

If you want to live on the wild side or have a few points to burn, you can try your hand at a gift card raffles or lucky number draws to win bonus points. You must spend points to buy entry for either giveaway.

Personally, I use sites like PrizeRebel to make money and stick with guaranteed forms of payment like gift cards and PayPal cash.

How Much Money Can You Make on PrizeRebel?

Your earning potential depends on how often you use PrizeRebel and which activities you pursue.

PrizeRebel mentions that the most active members earn more than $500 a month exclusively from surveys.

You need to complete multiple daily surveys along with several offers per week to be a high earner.

Unfortunately, you won’t earn as much if you avoid paid offers which have the highest payouts.

If time is precious, offers can pay more points with shorter time commitments. You are also guaranteed payment when completing the offering requirements as it’s relatively easy to get disqualified for online surveys.

In your free time, you may also consider using high-paying side hustle apps to increase your income.

Where PrizeRebel Excels

PrizeRebel customer reviews

There are many different online survey sites to choose from, but there are many reasons why you should join PrizeRebel.

Some of PrizeRebel’s strengths include:

  • Earn points from surveys, offers, watching videos, and referring friends
  • Redeem points for gift cards with a $2 balance
  • Can take multiple daily surveys
  • New surveys and offers released each day
  • Long-time members enjoy additional benefits as they upgrade membership tier

The variety of earning opportunities is the best reasons to consider this service. Unlike some rewards apps, you’re not limited exclusively to surveys or watching ads like other platforms.

Since most gift cards and cash rewards require a balance of $5 or less, you can request more frequent payments.

On other sites that have a high payment threshold, you’re less likely to continue earning points and more likely to give up before you qualify for your first payment.

I also like that PrizeRebel is an easy-to-navigate platform. You can quickly find the survey, offer or video you’re looking for.

The site clearly explains the actions required to earn the offer or survey payment. You also see how soon the points deposit into your account once you complete any activity.

Where PrizeRebel Can Improve

Like any platform, PrizeRebel isn’t a perfect side hustle. Here are a few of the downsides:

  • Must complete a screener for each survey attempt
  • Only get sweepstakes entries (not points) if you don’t qualify for a survey
  • Can’t earn points from shopping online
  • Many offers require spending money

The most common PrizeRebel activity for you will most likely be online surveys. But, you only get paid if you can qualify for the survey and complete all the questions.

One frustration for PrizeRebel and other get-paid-to sites is that you don’t qualify for every survey attempt. Yes, I’ve been disqualified for multiple surveys after answering several screener questions.

PrizeRebel and the survey provider will try to find another relevant survey, but answering repetitive screener questions can get annoying.

Another way PrizeRebel could make it easier to earn points is by offering reward points for online shopping. However, you will need to use a cashback apps for this task.

Other PrizeRebel alternatives offer this capability, which makes it easier to earn points you can redeem for cash or gift cards.
